Benefits of facial implants

Thanks to them, you can:

  • achieve balance in facial features
  • correct sunken cheeks
  • highlight the cheekbones
  • correct a receding chin
  • correct mandibular underdevelopment
  • achieve a proportionate, symmetrical facial appearance
  • rejuvenate your face with skin tightening on implants

The course of the facial implant surgery

The implantation procedure is similar for all parts of the face. It involves making a small incision, in an invisible place, near the place where the implant is to be placed. Most often, these are: the inside of the oral cavity at the gum line, the lower eyelid, or the chin crease. Then a pocket is created and the implant is placed in it

After the implantation is complete, the incision is sutured and a dressing is applied. The surgery to implant silicone elastomer or Gore-Tex inserts is performed under local or general anesthesia

Cheek implants can then be inserted through the incisions made for the facelift.

Post-procedure recommendations after facial implantation

After the procedure, redness, bruising and swelling will appear on the face, which in some places, e.g. the jaw, may persist for a long time, masking the effect of the procedure. The stitches will be removed after the mucous membrane or skin has healed, usually after 7 days. Dissolvable stitches dissolve after 10 days at the earliest. During the convalescence period, the treatment area should be covered with cold compresses. The convalescence period lasts about 7 to 10 days. For up to 7 days, you should limit your facial movements, follow a pulpy and semi-liquid diet, and avoid bending over. Biting and chewing may be difficult for a few days. If the incisions were located in the oral cavity, you should not brush your teeth with a toothbrush, and after each meal, you should rinse your mouth with specialist disinfectants.

Facial expression is extremely important to most people. Problems may include sunken cheeks, lack of visible cheekbones, too sharp facial features, poorly developed contours, or defects after facial trauma. Facial implants are used to reconstruct, enlarge, and rejuvenate individual elements. There are various lines and types of implants available, which are used in both plastic and reconstructive surgery . They are made of different materials, in a wide range of sizes and shapes, and can also be trimmed depending on the need. Implants are adapted to: cheeks, nose, chin, and jaw. Facial modeling with implants can be combined with other procedures, e.g. facelift .
