Dermabrasion procedure

The treatment involves uniform, mechanical exfoliation of the skin to the same depth (reproductive layer) over the entire treated area.

In the vast majority of cases, the procedure is performed under local anesthesia and does not require a stay in the clinic

Some scars disappear after the first treatment, but others will require additional repetitions

Immediately after the procedure, a sterile dressing with antibacterial and antiviral agents is applied, which is removed after 7-10 days

Post-treatment recommendations after dermabrasion

After the procedure, you should lead a quiet life for a week or two. You will feel a little discomfort then. For the first 2-3 days, your face will look swollen.

Over time, the swelling will subside (it can be partially reduced with ice packs - but only if your doctor recommends it and follow his instructions exactly - there may be a risk of frostbite

There will also be visible bruising. Swelling and bruising always occur with invasive procedures. Healing time depends on the depth of dermabrasion. Post-operative skin care involves changing dressings and using appropriate products prescribed by the doctor. After the procedure, it is necessary to use a sunscreen, because the skin is then more exposed to the harmful effects of UVA/UVB rays.

Dermabrasion has been used in medicine for many years, mainly as an effective way to combat acne scars. Dermabrasion is also used for stretch marks, deep scars, to remove discolorations, reduce wrinkles, firm the skin and stimulate it to produce collagen and elastin.
